Gerry Villani started photographing his world with the humble Christmas gift of a Kodak Instamatic camera in the eighth grade in Salem, Oregon. From there he went through several 35mm film bodies and assorted equipment before finally settling on digital gear.
He attended Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham and earned an Associates degree in Journalism there in 1974 after graduating from North Salem High School in 1972. Gerry then became a U.S. Government photojournalist and spent 11 years traveling the world pursuing photography with a vengeance and mindless passion.
Gerry then returned to Salem and lived there for several years before making a short trip to China. He lived in Portland off and on between other overseas adventures. They included a six-month round-the-world trip with stops in Nepal, Kuwait, and New York City, followed by another trip to China.
He resumed living in Salem in 2016, and contributes regularly to an online stock agency, Dreamstime.com, with his unique vision of reality.
Gerry can provide photographs for audio-visual presentations, calendars, websites, and other uses. He is also available for casual outdoor portraits, family and business events, and general outdoor assignments.
